“The greatest gift our parents gave us was each other.”- unknown

Photographing these three siblings was really a treat!  Individually, they were easy and willing to be the subject, but together, they relaxed, laughed and smiled at each other genuinely!  That’s what you want with brothers and sisters – people who can be themselves around each other.  It was like they instinctually knew that someone had their back.  Thanks, Nickerson’s for letting me hang out with y’all and make these images with you.

The last time I saw this sweet family was about 18 months ago when their son was a sweet little newborn!  I remember how enamoured they were with him, the dad playing guitar for him and mom watching over them so proud!  When Mom asked me to come back – I thought it was going to be a fun toddler session – but imagine my surprise when I ran into her at her office…with a belly bump!!  Imagine another surprise, when in the elevator when she announced…”yeah, I’m pregnant with identical twin girls!!”  My excitement level was ramped up even more to photograph the three of them and share their exciting news!!

Congratulations Kerr Family, soon to be FIVE!! It’s going to be one awesome, amazing ride!!

Jensens…we don’t want you to go!  You can imagine my giddiness when Mama Jensen mentioned that she would like to schedule a photo shoot for her family before they headed back to their homeland, Denmark.  Somehow, we managed to squeeze in 2, hot and humid (nothing like the ATL in the summer) hours in before they headed out.  Now they are gallavanting back to Denmark breaking hearts as they go.  Atlanta was lucky to host you for 3 years and sad to see you go – brace yourself for loads of visitors!

A favorite moment for everyone was this bike cop photobombing the group!  HILARIOUS!

Welcome baby Everly!! Any day I get to work with a newborn is a good day & today was a very good day. I spent my afternoon getting my baby fix with this adorable little girl and her precious family.  I mean have you ever seen a baby in a turban?  Me neither, but it doesn’t get much cuter!  Her big brother was so excited to be able hold his “baby sister” and how about that bow tie?  Thank you so much for trusting me to document this special time in your life.

Oh My Goodness!  What a treat this session was!  It wasn’t too long after we moved back to Atlanta that I had the opportunity to photograph these two for the 1st time.  One was nearly 5 and the other wasn’t even walking yet!!  Fast forward 5 years later and one move across the globe and here we are again! I was thrilled when they called me and said they were home for the summer visiting grandparents and wanted to meet up again for family pictures…minus Mom who stayed home to run the family business.  We met up at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens and had the best time catching up (I talk a lot!), exploring the gardens and making these images. I loved seeing how much these two have grown up and hearing all about their new lives, new language and what foods they miss the most when they are away (Grandma’s black beans & yellow rice).  It was pretty awesome watching them paint their names in Japanese calligraphy at the Garden’s water painting wall.  It was such a great morning and I hope it won’t be another 5 years before I can meet up with the Wisenbakers again!!
