~ Welcome Everly ~ ATLANTA NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHER ~

Welcome baby Everly!! Any day I get to work with a newborn is a good day & today was a very good day. I spent my afternoon getting my baby fix with this adorable little girl and her precious family.  I mean have you ever seen a baby in a turban?  Me neither, but it doesn’t get much cuter!  Her big brother was so excited to be able hold his “baby sister” and how about that bow tie?  Thank you so much for trusting me to document this special time in your life.

~ Baby Olivia ~ ATLANTA NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY ~

Well, I’m batting zero this summer for birth photography… My first baby decided to come on his own and his Mom birthed him in the mini-van… No worries, I had another birth coming up mid-August.  I’d warned the Mom that I would be in Costa Rica until the very beginning of August, but it shouldn’t be a problem…unless the baby comes nearly 2 weeks early and super fast, which she did!!  Baby Olivia was in a hurry to join us – but at least she waited until they got to the hospital.

But all’s well that ends well and I got to meet up with Olivia and her fabulous family a week later for a beautiful newborn session!  It was such a treat for me to see her older sister – the last time I’d seen her was when she was a few hours old (I made it to her birth).  A funny story, right after I got to their home, I was pulling up a large window blind for more light and inadvertently pulled it off the wall (*sorry*)…which upset Mila to no end…she must have walked by 50 times, pointed at the blinds and said “you broke that!” ~hanging my head in shame~

Thank you so much for trusting me with these images!

Really, Mila tried to steal the show – she nearly did it too with her yoga poses…I mean check those out, they are perfect!  I know tons of spandexed women who would die for that downward facing dog!!

Oh My Goodness!  What a treat this session was!  It wasn’t too long after we moved back to Atlanta that I had the opportunity to photograph these two for the 1st time.  One was nearly 5 and the other wasn’t even walking yet!!  Fast forward 5 years later and one move across the globe and here we are again! I was thrilled when they called me and said they were home for the summer visiting grandparents and wanted to meet up again for family pictures…minus Mom who stayed home to run the family business.  We met up at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens and had the best time catching up (I talk a lot!), exploring the gardens and making these images. I loved seeing how much these two have grown up and hearing all about their new lives, new language and what foods they miss the most when they are away (Grandma’s black beans & yellow rice).  It was pretty awesome watching them paint their names in Japanese calligraphy at the Garden’s water painting wall.  It was such a great morning and I hope it won’t be another 5 years before I can meet up with the Wisenbakers again!!

~ Baby Carter ~ ATLANTA NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY

After missing baby Carter’s entry into this world – I knew I had to spend more time with him…you know get to know him, figure out what makes him tick…  So, less than a week old, I headed to his new home earlier this week.  He seems to be fitting in just nicely with his new family.  They seem to be pretty smitten with him and I think the feeling is mutual…especially with his Mama!!

Thank you so much, Holly & Sam, for letting me be a part of this special time in your lives!  It’s always such an honor when families trust me to document these amazing events!!

~ Welcome Carter ~ ATLANTA BIRTH PHOTOGRAPHY

This baby right here…he gave us all a run for our money!!  Starting with the fact that he was nearly 2 weeks overdue!  His mom said she was one day shy of being pregnant 10 months!!  Then when he decided to join us here earth side – he couldn’t wait any longer and was born on the WAY to the hospital!  Born in the minivan!  Two pushes according to his mother!  Luckily, everything went the way it was suppose to and he’s here and couldn’t be healthier!!  Unfortunately, though I wasn’t able to greet him until about 90 minutes later…  Nonetheless, I still love the images we captured – meeting his tribe ~ sister, brother, grandparents and aunt.  Welcome Baby Carter!!  You are so loved and we are so glad you are here!

~ 50 Years!! ~ ATLANTA FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY

When I was approached by Mary to photograph her parents 50th wedding anniversary I knew it was an event I did not want to miss!  Together with her sister, Tonya, they threw their parents the loveliest anniversary party.  It was the perfect celebration, surrounded by family and friends, in the most delightful of locations, with a delicious dinner catered by their family’s business.  Perhaps the sweetest part of the evening was a musical arrangement by the grandchildren, especially written for their Grandparents.

Both sisters told me that this party was the least they could do for their parents who have done so much for them and their families.  I actually had several guests come up to me, separately, and say “I bet you don’t photograph many 50th anniversary parties…it’s a real accomplishment!”  I’d say the real accomplishment with this family is the love and loyalty that they all have for each other!!

Dreamy!  That’s how’d I’d explain this wedding!  Dreeeeammmmyyyy!  These two lovebirds did not let anything get them down this day!  Power out – who cares?  Tree across the main entrance to the chapel – who cares?  Besides those two close calls – it was a perfect day to get married!  Beautiful weather, gorgeous location, handsome groom and stunning bride!!  Check, check and check!  I’ve said this time and time again – but the way Randon makes Caroline laugh is the secret to their love and will be the secret to their success to on their 75th wedding anniversary!!  Congratulations Caroline & Randon!!

~ Women’s Retreat ~ ATLANTA PHOTOGRAPHER

This past weekend I had the blissful opportunity to photograph and participate in a Soul Nourish Women’s retreat led by Shari Fox & Mandy Roberts.  As I have done in the past, I sat in on groups, did a little yoga and hopefully was able to capture the essence of these refreshing, invigorating, thought provoking weekends.  My favorite part of the weekend is meeting and getting to know the women that attended the retreat.  It’s really a gift to be able to sit, listen, eat, sample some yummy wine and connect with women – women of all ages, shapes and backgrounds!!  Thank you ladies for letting me be a part of your special journey!  Aho!
